We spent last week on Florianópolis, one of my favorite places in Brazil... Weather was far from perfect, a weird virus made us spent some time "alone", but the place is really awesome... I selected 2 pictures that I believe better fit this blog, but I'll post more on my other blog soon.
First one was taken at on a wonderful viewpoint in the path to the Conceição Lagoon, taken at 1/100, f/7.1 and ISO 80. Minor cropping, white balance adjust and saturation reduction done on Picasa.
Second was taken on a nice restaurant called "Ponta das Caranhas". These birds stayed there forever! It was raining, so basically lack of colors, no shadows and the blurred background (due to rain and depth of field) made me think on B&W. I use to say that a good B&W photo must have B's and W's, not only grays, so contrast is the key. I then used a red filter on the conversion, ensuring it looked good. Picture taken at 1/50 (IS on) f/3.5, ISO 100. All tweaks done on Picasa as well.
Pictures were taken with my Canon S1IS. By the way, I'm considering a micro 4/3s for traveling... suggestions?
Hope you enjoy!
